We're building a minimalist MVP platform for sharing and preserving rare or deleted short-form videos and photos, inspired by TikTok but with locked content and community progression mechanics.
The MVP will be built by customizing an existing TikTok clone base to save development time and cost.
Scope Summary (June 2025)
- Upload and tag short-form videos/photos
- Simple 'For You' feed showing most-liked videos
- Users must spend credits to access locked content
- Users can like and medal videos after accessing
- Users can follow profiles and browse a Following feed
- XP (reputation) system governs user progression
- Subscription unlocks more album space, medals, and credits
MVP Requirements (Using Clone Base)
- Start from TikTok clone template (required)
- Upload videos/photos from gallery
- Photo uploads display blurred previews until accessed
- Tagging system (tags searchable and clickable)
- Profile pages with uploaded content
- Follow system (Following feed)
- Likes (after access only)
- Medals (available to premium users)
- Reputation XP system based on: uploads, unlocks, likes, medals
- Credit-based unlocking system for content access
- Album system (stores accessed content with storage limits)
- Subscription expands album space and provides bonus unlocks and medals
- Upload limit per user to control storage costs
