Update Chrome Extension to Manifest v3 - Developer with Axios and Jquery Experience/APIS
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We currently have a google chrome extension which is running on manifest v2 in the google chrome store.
It is build using bootstrap, javascript and jquery and acts as a review tool for a 3rd party Saas platform by injecting a Kanban board into the 3rd party tool using jquery & kanban js. We use pusher.js to make the bridge for broadcasting & listening to several events realtime.
We are looking to update the extension to version 3 of manifest but hitting issues with the jquery and service workers. (as service worker doesn’t have DOM access so jquery doesn’t works on that.)
The extension communicates with a backend api using Axios at the moment, which is built in laravel.
We are looking for an EXTREMELY skilled developer which a LOT of experience with Google Chrome Extensions, content script injection into sites using chrome execute script, chrome local storage using chrome.storage.sync etc.
As per our observation we think we need to convert the background functions to service worker with asynchronous functions. And change all sync call to async while calling those functions from popup & content scripts. Other than those the extensions shouldn’t require any complex code changes for inject, kanban & pusher scripts.
This is an urgent project and needs to be done in next 2 weeks.
