Fetch data to chrome extension without API

I want to build a website that can fetch information from other website and display on extension.
To be more precise, I would like a chrome extension that can find information from say Yellowpages and display on someone's Linkedin profile page. It would be like if someone is working at Microsoft, the extension will hit yellowpages to find Microsoft phone number and display on extension.
Please note there isn't an API available on the website that I want this project to be integrated.
