Chrome extension for loading other extensions
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I want to to build a chrome extension.
Please consider applying only if you have built chrome extensions before and have strong experience building Chrome extensions. This project should be very simple for a person with strong experience on coding chrome extensions, and while this specific project is simple in nature it will be part of a more complex project for which I hope to continue to hire this person.
The functionality of the extension at hand is very simple:
1. It should autoload on every new page.
2A. Upon complete load of the webpage content, the extension should simulate pressing a set of hotkeys used to activate another extension (Lets call it target extension, which say it is loaded with the keys: Control + Shift + Y).
Alternatively, your extension should
2B. create a button on the webpage (not a pop-window, but an iframe of sort), that upon clicking it will activate the target extension.
Either option 2A or 2B are fine, only one is needed.
To test your extension... simply:
1. Add any given extension in chrome (Find out its hotkeys),
2. enter the hotkeys of the target Extension in your extension.
3. navigate to any given webpage ( if you did option 2B, press on the button).
The result is that upon browsing any new webpage, the target extension should be activated automatically if you did option 2A; or after pressing the button if you coded option 2B.
Skills and Experience Needed:
- Proficiency in JavaScript and Chrome Extension APIs.
- Prior experience with browser extension keyboard shortcuts.
- Understanding of Chrome's permissions and content scripts.
- Ability to create user-friendly interfaces for extension settings if required.
