Google Apps Script Checkbox Date Management

I'm looking for an expert in Google Apps Script to amend my existing code.
Currently, I have a checkbox setup in Google Sheets for task completion. When the box is checked, a date stamp is applied to a different cell. However, I need to modify the script so that when the box is unchecked, the date stamp in a single corresponding cell is cleared.
Ideal Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of Google Apps Script
- Experienced in Google Sheets functionality
- Ability to amend existing code
I have 3 columns - with checkboxes
I have a column beside each of the columns with a datestamp to it
when the checkbox is ticked - date stamp the next column (I have worked this out)
What I am missing:
When you untick the the checkbox - clear the datestamp
I know its a ELSE statement but I don't know where it goes.
