Create one zip file from multiple images out of a google storage folder using google cloud

We have multiple files in a google storage folder (google drive would also work for us). These files are just images without any subfolder structure. All image files in one folder. We need to automatically zip these files every single day. The total size of all image files is around 1 Gigabyte.
We already tried to build our own solution in google apps script but due to limitations of memory it is not working with a simple google apps script. So we are looking for a solution within the google cloud.
