bot attack - need to block visits

My website is getting thousands of bot attacks and I need to have them blocked from the website. See images. Looks to say petabot coming from petalsearch.
Google analytics data is not showing these figures. History of website visits have always been less than 1000 per day. See also the image below comparing August and September visits, these will show an increase from 7000 to 26700 and this is not normal.
You will also see what looks like a bot attack on the website from Petalbot, and a petal search.
I need these removed so the visits to the website are not allowed
