Google Analytics - Difficult conversion problem with live copy of ecommerce site
Budget: €8 – €50 EUR
Only real Analytics and conversion experts need to reply please. If you don't reply with something specific to this case I just delete it, cause it takes too much time to filter all freelancers who don't read and just reply to everything.
I have a problem I like to invent a solution for. We have a made tool that makes a live copy of a website, translates it and maintains it too. This is great for companies who like to expand to a foreign country. Especially for ecommerce shops. But they like to know the conversion of those copied foreign shops too and there we encounter a problem.
At normal websites it's no problem. We just replace the original UA code and then all visitors and such are measured. So far so good.
At an ecommerce website there's one difference. If we follow the same process as above all visits are measured, but the conversions aren't. Why? Because after the checkout the visitor is being redirected to the payment system of the original website. The payment system doesn't know the visitor comes from the copied website: it thinks the visitor comes from the original website, and after the customer has paid the customer is being redirected to the thank you page of the original website, not of the copy.
The conversion is contributed to the original webshop thereafter, which is wrong. But we don't know a method to change this.
So we need a smart freelancer who can think outside the box and knows a lot about google analytics and conversions. We cannot change things in the payment systems itself. So it has to be some script or something in the website itself or some analytics / tag manager settings.
If you are smart enough, let us know...
