Paid Ads Technical QA & Insights Specialist (Google & Meta Ads)
Budget: $2 – $8 CAD
We’re a growing marketing agency looking for a detail-oriented Paid Ads Technical QA & Insights Specialist (not an agency) to support our Google Ads and Meta Ads accounts.
This is a part-time role with the potential to grow into a long-term, full-time position for the right person.
This is not a creative or strategy role. You will not be writing ad copy, designing creatives, or communicating with clients. We already have a writer, designer, and reporting team in place.
Your role is to set up, QA, monitor, and analyze the technical side of paid ads, ensuring campaigns run correctly, tracking is accurate, and performance signals are clearly surfaced for internal decision-making.
If you enjoy troubleshooting, validating data, spotting patterns, and acting as a second set of eyes before and after ads go live—we want to hear from you.
>What We’re Looking For
- A technically minded ads specialist who enjoys QA, monitoring, and diagnostics
- Someone who understands paid ads systems and tracking, not just performance headlines
- A calm, methodical thinker who knows when to flag issues vs. when to let things be
- Someone interested in growing with one team, not juggling multiple clients or running their own agency
>Responsibilities
>>Paid Ads Technical Setup & QA
- Set up and maintain Google Ads and Meta Ads accounts (based on approved structures)
- QA campaigns before launch (links, creatives, tracking, placements)
- Monitor live campaigns for delivery issues, disapprovals, or technical errors
- Pause ads or escalate immediately if tracking or spend integrity is compromised
>>Tracking & Google Tag Manager
- Set up and maintain Google Tag Manager
- Implement and verify:
-- Google Ads conversion tags
-- Meta pixel and standard events
- Validate tag firing using GTM Preview and Tag Assistant
- Document tags, triggers, and changes clearly
>>Monitoring & Analytics Oversight
- Monitor ad platform data alongside tools like Google Analytics (GA4) and Microsoft Clarity
- Identify discrepancies, anomalies, or UX issues that could impact conversions
- Flag issues clearly with evidence and severity level
- Understand that not all flagged issues are fixed immediately due to client scope or budget
>>Ads QA & Insight Reporting
- Act as an additional layer of QA before ads go live
- Monitor which:
-- Headlines and descriptions receive the most clicks
-- Images or videos attract the most engagement
- Prepare internal summaries showing:
-- What is working
-- What is underperforming
-- What patterns are emerging (with confidence level)
- Share observations internally (not recommendations or decisions)
>What This Role Is NOT
- Writing or rewriting ad copy
- Designing creatives or landing pages
- Defining ad strategy or creative concepts
- Making budget decisions
- Communicating directly with clients
- Redesigning funnels or analytics architecture
>Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads and Meta Ads
- Experience setting up and validating conversion tracking
- Working knowledge of Google Tag Manager
- Strong attention to detail (this role lives in the details)
- Comfort working with data, patterns, and diagnostics
- Ability to document issues clearly and escalate appropriately
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable working within defined boundaries
>Bonus Skills (Not Required but Nice to Have)
- Experience with additional ad platforms (e.g. TikTok, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads)
- Familiarity with GA4 and session recording tools (e.g. Microsoft Clarity)
- Experience QA-ing ads before launch
- Interest in long-term growth into a more senior technical or insight-focused role
>Job Details
- Part-time: ~15–20 hours/week to start
- Schedule: Flexible, Monday–Friday
- Rate: $2 to $3 CAD per hour
- Growth Opportunity: Long-term role with potential to expand responsibilities over time (without becoming a strategist or creative)
>To Apply:
Please send:
- A brief summary of your experience with Google Ads, Meta Ads, and tracking
- Examples of:
-- Accounts you’ve set up or QA-ed
-- Tracking or tag issues you’ve identified and handled
- A short explanation of how you approach QA and issue flagging, especially when something can’t be fixed immediately
Tell us why you enjoy the technical and analytical side of paid ads, and how you stay disciplined about scope and decision-making.
