Google Ads & SEO Specialist Needed for Creative Writing Studio
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
Boutique arts education company seeks an experienced Google Ads and SEO specialist to drive qualified traffic, fill our classes, and grow year-round enrollment.
About us
We are a small, mission-driven arts education company offering high-touch writing and creative arts classes. Our goal is to increase consistent, high-intent leads and turn them into paying students across our program calendar.
Role overview
- Freelance, remote; ongoing retainer of up to 5 hours per week (typically 2–5 hours, year-round)
- Focus on performance marketing: more enrollments, more qualified leads, stronger ROI on a modest budget.
- You plan, set up, manage, and optimize Google Ads + SEO to drive predictable growth in class sign-ups.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, create, and manage Google Search and Display campaigns for our classes, workshops, and programs.
- Conduct keyword research around arts education, writing classes, creative workshops, etc. to capture high-intent search traffic.
- Write and test compelling ad copy and extensions that speak to our niche creative audience and drive conversions, not just clicks.
- Set up proper account and campaign structure, bidding strategies, and basic experiments (A/B tests) to continually improve performance.
- Monitor and optimize campaigns weekly: negative keywords, bids, budgets, search terms, quality score, and landing page alignment.
- Track and report on key metrics (impressions, CTR, CPC, conversions, cost per enrollment, ROAS) and make data-based recommendations.
- Implement and refine on-page SEO for our main site and key landing pages, including titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal links, and image alt text.
- Perform ongoing SEO keyword research and basic competitor analysis to identify content and ranking opportunities.
- Advise on landing page improvements, content ideas, and site structure that can increase organic traffic and conversion rates.
Required skills and experience
- Proven experience running profitable Google Ads campaigns (search-focused) for small businesses, education, or similar service-based offers.
- Strong understanding of core PPC concepts: keyword match types, quality score, bidding strategies, negative keywords, and remarketing fundamentals.
- Solid SEO knowledge across research, on-page optimization, and link-building basics.
- Proficiency with Google Ads and Google Analytics (GA4) to set up tracking, interpret data, and attribute conversions correctly.
- Comfort working with modest budgets and optimizing for maximum enrollments rather than vanity metrics.
- Excellent written English and the ability to adapt messaging to a creative, arts-focused audience.
- Reliability, clear communication, and a willingness to explain what you’re doing in plain language so we can make smart business decisions together.
- Google Ads certification.
- Experience with conversion tracking setups (tags, events) and simple landing page testing tools.
What success looks like
- Increased volume of qualified leads and class enrollments from paid and organic search over time.
- Stable or improved cost per enrollment while scaling what works.
- Clear, concise biweekly reports and recommendations that help us understand where to invest next.
