Development Manager

Purpose of Role
As the Development Manager, you will work as a back-end software developer on our public-
facing API and integrations with other APIs. You will also deploy and monitor that the API
functions in a DevOps style and coordinate with other developers and our business teams to
understand requirements.

Responsibilities
• Be the primary developer for our Golang offering.
• Managing and designing API services.
• Writing data APIs and multi-server applications to meet product needs.
• Designing configurable REST APIs on demand.
• Implementing patterns such as channels and Goroutines to drive efficiency.
• Maintain a high standard of code backed up by automated unit tests and integration
tests.
• Write automated tests for your API endpoint.
• Monitor your API endpoints and respond to alerts if it is not performing within
operations limits.

Skills Required
• Expert Golang knowledge of five years of experience writing clean, well-tested Golang
code.
• Advanced knowledge of building modern application architectures such as RESTful API
design and microservices.
• Advanced use of AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
• Worked with front-end technology like React, Vue.js or similar.

Ideal Candidate
• Has between 5-8 years of commercial experience.
• Has a keen attention to detail.
• Has excellent verbal and written English.
• Is well-organised and able to report on progress concisely.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar.
