*The Opportunity
StatSocial is looking for a Backend Software Engineer to contribute to the development of our SaaS platform. Reporting directly to StatSocial’s CTO, this person’s responsibilities will include application architecture design and development of DCOE’s microservice-based platform. In addition, this role will report technical requirements and limitations encountered during development to leadership on a regular cadence.
*Responsibilities Will Include:
Building robust and scalable software in multiple modern object oriented and functional languages
Working on integrations with other internal and external teams
Implementing services using both asynchronous messaging services and RESTful APIs
Designing and implementing multi-threaded and multi-processor solutions
Conducting innovative technology research, concept specification and design of individual software components
Prioritizing mitigating security vulnerabilities as a part of your normal development process
Diving into challenging technical scenarios and successfully delivering expected results in alignment with dev schedule
*Basic Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or related fields, or equivalent experience
5+ years of professional programming experience
2+ years of professional programming experience with Go
Strong knowledge of Go programming language, paradigms, constructs, and idioms
1+ years of professional programming experience with Service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, and REST APIs
1+ years of hands-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS and GCP
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of common Goroutine and channel patterns
Experience with the full suite of Go frameworks and tools
Dependency management tools such as Godep, etc.
Go's templating language
Go's code generation tools, such as Stringer
Router packages, such as Gorilla Mux
Ability to write clean and effective Godoc comments
Experience working with large dataset (500 million + rows)
Experience building boilerplate internal-use UIs (JS, Golang)
Experience with containerized microservices and serverless architectures
Experience with distributed systems and related concepts
Experience with API Gateways, and strong understanding of API management and orchestration
Experience with SQL and NoSQL datastores including but not limited to Postgres, MySQL, CrateDB, and Cassandra (or ScyllaDB)
Hand-on experience with cloud providers such as AWS and GCP
Experience in scaling applications
Strong computer science theory fundamentals like algorithms and data structure design
Experience with agile software development methodology
Experience mitigating security vulnerabilities
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience developing with PHP
Knowledge of Ansible is a plus
