Claude & GitHub Hands-On Training
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I would like a patient, methodical trainer to walk me through both Claude and GitHub so I can use them confidently in my business and day-to-day personal projects.
Claude
• Show me how to converse with Claude effectively, set context, build prompts, and save useful snippets for later.
• Demonstrate business-oriented workflows such as drafting emails, summarising documents, brainstorming product ideas, and generating simple code.
• Cover personal tasks too: travel planning, learning new topics, and organising household information.
• If there is an API or plugin angle, give me a gentle introduction so I know what is possible without diving straight into heavy development.
GitHub (my current level: Beginner)
• Refresh the foundations of Git version control and collaboration so I always know which command or UI click to use, and why.
• Deep-dive into repository management: branching models, pull-request etiquette, issue templates, project boards, and the security / settings tabs that keep a repo healthy.
• Walk me through advanced features—GitHub Actions, Packages, Dependabot, and Codespaces—showing practical examples I can reuse in both work and personal codebases.
Format & pacing
• Live screen-sharing sessions with clear step-by-step explanations.
• Short homework tasks so I can practise between calls.
• A concise written recap after every lesson, including commands, links, and screenshots.
Acceptance
I will consider the engagement successful when I can:
1. Draft an effective Claude prompt for any given task without help.
2. Create, clone, branch, commit, push, and open a pull request on GitHub with confidence.
3. Set up at least one GitHub Action that runs tests automatically.
4. Explain in my own words how Claude and GitHub can streamline one of my business processes and one personal project.
Please outline how many sessions you think this will take and any tools you prefer for remote instruction.
