Custom Site Maintenance & Updates
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
My custom-built website needs ongoing maintenance to keep everything running smoothly and securely. The codebase was written in-house, so there’s no CMS layer to fall back on; every tweak or patch touches raw source files.
Here’s what I need handled on a regular basis:
• Security updates – review dependencies, patch vulnerabilities, and harden the server stack.
• Content updates – push new copy, images, and minor layout changes as requested by our marketing team.
• Bug fixes – investigate and resolve front-end or back-end issues reported by users, with clear commit notes so we can track what changed.
You should be fully comfortable reading and modifying custom code (PHP, JavaScript, or similar), version-controlling your work in Git, and deploying safely to production with minimal downtime. I’ll grant repository access and staging credentials after we agree on the workflow.
Acceptance will be based on:
1. Zero new errors in the server logs after each release.
2. Documented change log for every task.
3. Turnaround within the timeframe we discuss for ad-hoc requests.
If you already maintain bespoke sites and enjoy diving into undocumented code, this should be a straightforward, steady assignment.
