The Gifted Ones

i want to tell a story about people with extraordinary abilities who helped others during times of slavery, jim crow, etc. These people get their powers from the pantheon of african gods and goddesses. I want to mix in the realism of tribulations black people since being in america and the lore and mythology of african gods and goddesses.
