LGBT Tragedy Screenplay
Budget: $5,000 – $10,000 USD
I'm seeking a talented screenwriter to craft a compelling LGBT-themed drama.
I would like to do a screenplay for a film and then a subsequent novel. I would be open to a volume 1 and volume 2 screenplay. The subsequent novel I would like to show other perspectives and things not shown in the film(s). The storyline is set, I just need help from a professional to produce a piece that can be copywritten and shopped. So far I would say I currently have 20,000 words.
Key Elements:
- Genre: Drama with elements of tragedy
- Primary Theme: Love and relationships, Conflict and struggle, Personal growth and self-discovery
- Setting: Could be either a period piece or a modern story, but definitely not futuristic
The key word is tragedy. I am hoping to have the story be a slow burn but with flashes of thrill. I could cite directors, authors, works that are in line with the mood I am hoping to achieve.
The story does have some nonlinear aspects. For example, the beginning of the story should be the very end of the ending scene. Like watching the last 30 seconds of a movie you have never seen and then rewinding and starting from the beginning. Setting the scene. Letting the audience know tragedy is coming but not exactly how or what bring it about.
"Pulp fiction" would be an example, but more linear than that piece of work. At the very beginning of Pulp Fiction, there is the sound of a motorcycle driving away. It seems insignificant but once the story wraps its significance can be recognized.
