Hell Inc Sketch Punch-Up
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’ve drafted a sitcom sketch set inside HELL.INC., a creaking, understaffed bureaucracy that tries—badly—to manage eternal torment. The premise works, the characters are fun, but the jokes still aren’t detonating the way I want and, more importantly, the overall plot could be clearer. What I need now is a seasoned comedy writer who can sharpen the humour while tightening the story arc so every beat lands with purpose.
Here’s where I’m focusing our collaboration:
• Reinforce the overarching structure. My biggest pain point is story-arc clarity—smooth the set-up, escalation and payoff so the absurd tone shines through without confusing the audience.
• Heighten punchlines. I want harder-hitting jokes that spring naturally from character and situation rather than one-liners bolted on.
• Preserve the sketch’s absurd, darkly comic flavour. The humour leans into existential bureaucracy, think “The Office” dropped into the seventh circle.
You’ll receive the current eight-page draft in Final Draft format (PDF on request). Return to me:
1. A revised script with tracked changes or clear mark-ups.
2. A short rationale (one page max) outlining why each structural or comedic tweak improves flow, timing and character.
3. Any alt lines you feel the actors could play with on the day.
