Project Overview for the Life Story of Thomas Disney
The purpose of this writing project is to gather the life story of Thomas F. Disney, M.D. of Scottsdale, Arizona and have him be interviewed over a succession of days to tell about his life, his work, his marriage and his children so that all interested members of his nuclear family and their children and children's children can get a full picture of what he did, how he lived, the successes he had and the challenges that were part of that life.
In addition to the interviews, which would be recorded and then transcribed, other family members could be interviewed to add their memories and stories to the mix. Tom also has genealogical material, family records and photographs that could be integrated into the final product.
And that product would be a printed booklet assembled by the writer he retains to do this project.
The span of time this narrative would include would be from 1957 to present
At present, already gathered are photos, family records and some amount of narrative writing.
Each writer to be interviewed may have her or his own way of doing this, but I envision a set of recording sessions where Tom will be prompted by the writer to tell his story in chronological fashion, touching on all aspects of his life, work, family and family travels and events.
