Comedy Writers Needed - Newbies May Apply
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I am interested in getting some help with scripts that need to be made funnier for which I need a comedy writer. The project is ongoing. All you have to do is edit the jokes underlined in the script or change them.
The price is $1 per joke net, which means $1 plus the service fee so that you receive the complete $1 for your work. The budget is just a placeholder, you will be paid per joke. This is non-negotiable.
Joke rules:
-Jokes are NOT topical, they are timeless
-Jokes are NOT dirty
-Jokes are appropriate to context
-Jokes are great for any age
-Jokes are not too wordy
-Jokes are not super cliche
-Jokes are not predictable
-Jokes not too formulaic.
-Jokes not sexist, racist, homophobic, against any particular group of people (xenophobic, etc.); In other words, no "Insult comedy."
-If I don't understand the reference, it's too obscure. So no obscure references.
-No hacks (meaning stealing material from other artists, especially copyrights)
Applicant rules:
-Beginners can apply, but some experience is preferred.
-Fluent in English such that you can joke in the culture of English speakers.
-Scripts vary in length and by topic. Some may be easier than others. You should be able to work with either.
If interested, write the name of the author of "The Hamlet" and "As I Lay Dying" on top of your proposal, even before you say hello. Proposals that do not do this will not be considered. Any further details will be discussed later.
