What is the Breath Series all about
The project is about short stories to inspire growing up girls age 8 to 16. Its about a little girl growing up in the socially challenged South Africa under difficult circumstances. She triumphs, stays in school, and becomes very successful. This will be an english short story book about 8 character dolls brought to life that will captivate the reader. The reader will see themselves through these character dolls. There will always be a story one could relate to in the series. Each doll has a name. She comes from different province in South Africa and has an inspiring story to tell. The story lines are all sad but with a very good ending.The reader will be hooked curious to know how she made it out. I would like the children of South Africa to relate to these stories and see themselves through them and always be reminded through reading these stories that they too can prosper. Most importantly highlighting the importance of education. I also would like to bring highlight self help tools in the book through the spoken work, affirmation, visualisation through images for the readers to find hope. Also for the parent to see the damage they may be causing to the children unbeknown to them.
This will ultimately be an inspiring motivational piece unlike the typical Cinderella stories we grew up reading. The stories are about Dignity, Triumph, Perseverance, Resilience, Self Love and Respect against all Odds.
I have attached below the first line to be blown into an 8 page. Each story will be 2500 words.
The total series would be 150 pages. 15 pages per doll story. The number of words would really depend on the font size etc...We can unpack that part..
