BEA Monologue

Job ID: 37279001

Budget: $10 – $500 CAD

Hello!
I am a somewhat experienced MC, and I have been asked to MC a local business excellence awards show again this year. This is a show I've done many times in the past, for a number of years our format has been an Oscars/Tonys hybrid, with singing, dancing, and the like. I've also MC'd countless other events. This year they would like to do it in a "Late Night" tv show format. The problem? I'm not a comedian or a writer, but they would like a monologue. Yikes!

I am looking for help writing a monologue, or at least jokes for a (5-8 minute) monologue, for an business excellence awards show in my community. The show is themed in the style of a "Late Night" tv program.

I am in need of help writing jokes about current major (like really big) world events, current local events, and just jokes in general.

I am also looking for ideas or complete pieces for a "thank you notes" style segment, in the style of Jimmy Fallon's 'thank you notes' bit.

I live in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. The awards show is called "The 38th Annual Business Excellence Awards", it is hosted by the Prince George Chamber of Commerce.

I would also be open to including a piece similar to this (okay, ripping this off) in the monologue if you had ideas for it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL135-iDAvY

I'm happy to discuss current events, major things in PG, and the like.

Hope you might be interested!
