Native German translators to translate romance and fantasy novels from English to German

am looking for a freelance translator with experience in full-length romance and fantasy translations.

The perfect candidate will be a native German speaker who is fluent in English and has translated romance and fantasy novels before – it’s important that you understand the nuances of the genres from one language to the next. I want full-length translations (nothing abridged) that are true to the spirit and voice of the original novels. The end result should be a translation that flows well in German. No direct, word-for-word translations.

This will be a flat-rate (paid by English source word), work-for-hire job with no royalty share. The author will hold the copyright. The novels are typically around 50k to 90k words long. You will have creative freedom as it is a work of fiction, but any changes should be discussed before they are finalized. The priority lies on quality and upholding set deadlines. The translator should be open to work with an existing editor. For the right translator, this could be a longer-term relationship with continuous work.
