Soil Nail Slope Stability Model
Budget: $30 – $250 AUD
I already have a full geotechnical report for a steep slope and now need a defensible numerical model that proves a soil-nail system will stabilise it. The profile alternates between sandy soil, clay soil, and pockets of loose, engineered fill, so the model must capture those layers accurately and reflect their differing strengths, stiffnesses, and drainage behaviour.
What I need from you is straightforward:
• Re-create the stratigraphy and material properties from my report in recognised software (Slide2, GeoStudio/SLOPE W, PLAXIS, FLAC, or an equivalent you are comfortable with).
• Design the soil-nail layout—lengths, spacing, inclination, and nail type—to achieve the target factor of safety and acceptable displacements.
• Run sensitivity checks for groundwater variation and nail corrosion loss.
• Package the native model files, result plots (FoS, nail force diagrams, displacement contours), and a concise calculation note explaining assumptions and outputs.
Key points to keep in mind
– The slope is steep (about 1 V : 1 H), not a gentle embankment.
– Soil conditions include sandy soil, clay soil, plus loose and engineered fill—all three must be modelled.
– Groundwater information is in the report and must be represented.
I will review your submission by reproducing the model on my end, so completeness and clarity are essential. Please mention the software you propose to use, share a brief example of similar slope-stability or soil-nailing work you have completed, and confirm how quickly you can start.
