Residential Grading & Soils Certification

Job ID: 40036430

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

I’m wrapping up the permit package for a new single-family build and the city will not issue the final grading permit until they receive a stamped grading certification and accompanying soils report that meets every requirement set out in our local municipal codes.

Here’s what I need from you:
• A site visit, sampling, and any lab testing necessary to characterise native soil, fill, and groundwater conditions.
• A concise, engineer-stamped soils report detailing classification, bearing capacity, compaction recommendations, slope stability, and any mitigation measures.
• A grading certification that confirms cut-and-fill quantities, finished contours, and compliance with the city’s drainage and erosion-control standards.
• Both a sealed hard copy (for the counter) and a searchable PDF (for electronic review).

Acceptance is complete only when the municipal reviewer signs off without further comments, so please build in a quick turnaround for any minor revisions. Experience with residential projects and familiarity with local code wording will be key; if you also reference state or federal best-practice guidance that’s a bonus, but the city’s checklist is the benchmark we have to hit.

Let me know your estimated schedule for field work, lab time, and report delivery, and include any specific data or drawings you’ll need from me to get started right away.
