Residential Foundation Grading Plan Design for Washington State
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
NOTE: IF YOU ARE NOT A CIVIL ENGINEER, I WILL NOT READ YOUR PROPOSAL
I need a licensed civil engineer to take my existing site survey and topographic map and turn them into a permit-ready grading plan for a single-family home. The sole purpose of the plan is foundation preparation, so every contour, cut-and-fill calculation, and drainage note should ultimately serve proper pad support on our sandy-to-clay soil.
The survey and topo give you current elevations and property lines; everything else—finished grades, spot elevations at footing corners, slopes away from the structure, and any required retaining details—will come from your expertise. Please reference local code for minimum slope away from the house and clay-specific compaction guidance, then show that clearly on the drawing set.
Deliverables
• Signed, engineer-stamped grading plan in PDF and DWG
• Earthwork volume summary (cut vs. fill)
• Brief memo outlining key design assumptions and clay-soil recommendations
I will review the draft against municipal checklist items and need one round of revisions included before final sign-off. Let me know your expected turnaround time and the design software you prefer so we can get started right away.
