PLAXIS 3D Modelling of Geogrid-Reinforced Ballasted Railway Track
Project Description
I am seeking an experienced PLAXIS 3D engineer to develop a complete geogrid-reinforced ballasted railway track model from scratch for my Master's research project. I also want to learn the complete modelling workflow, so the selected freelancer should explain each step, modelling assumption, and interpretation of the results throughout the project.
Scope of Work
Develop the complete PLAXIS 3D model, including:
Rails
Concrete sleepers
Ballast
Sub-ballast/Capping
Subgrade
Geogrid reinforcement
Perform dynamic moving-load analysis.
Conduct parametric studies for:
Geogrid stiffness
Wheel load variation
Train speed variation
Pore-water pressure conditions
Explain the modelling methodology, assumptions, and engineering reasoning behind each simulation and result.
Deliverables
PLAXIS 3D project files
Time-history plots (vertical displacement, lateral displacement, and vertical stress)
Peak value and comparison tables
Summary graphs
Engineering interpretation of all results
Step-by-step guidance so I can confidently understand and reproduce the modelling independently
Requirements
Proven experience with PLAXIS 3D
Experience with dynamic/moving-load analysis
Experience in railway geotechnical engineering or geosynthetic/geogrid modelling is preferred
Strong communication skills and willingness to teach throughout the project
