Oil Tank Raft Foundation Design
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am laying out five vertical cylindrical tanks for oil storage and need a complete structural package for the circular raft foundations that will sit beneath each vessel. The design must be fully compliant with API 650 requirements for tank foundations, including all load combinations relevant to oil containment.
At this stage I will forward the geotechnical report as soon as it is released, so please allow for one round of adjustments once the actual soil profile is known. Until then, work with clearly stated provisional assumptions, noting how they will be revised when the clay / sand / rock condition is confirmed.
Deliverables I expect:
• Sizing calculations and design notes (PDF + editable file)
• Reinforcement layout, bar schedules and anchor-bolt plan in CAD (DWG) and PDF
• Foundation plan and sections with all critical dimensions called out
• Brief design summary highlighting API 650 clauses applied and any key checks (settlement, uplift, sliding, punching)
I am happy with whichever analysis tools you normally use—SAFE, STAAD, Robot, hand checks—provided the method is transparent and traceable in the submission. Each raft must be ready for detailing and construction once the soil data is locked in.
