Groundwater Engineer / Hydrogeologist Required – Residential Basement Development
Experienced groundwater engineer or hydrogeologist with demonstrable experience of groundwater assessment for London basement development.
Scope of Services
* Review existing geotechnical, structural and architectural information.
* Assess groundwater conditions and groundwater-related risks.
* Prepare a Groundwater Assessment Report suitable for planning & Building Control
* Assess the impact on neighbouring properties.
* Recommend temporary dewatering methods where necessary.
* Advise on permanent basement waterproofing strategy in accordance with BS 8102.
* Be available to answer technical queries during design and construction if required.
Essential Experience
* Degree in Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng), Chartered Geologist (CGeol), Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (C.WEM), or equivalent preferred.
* Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
* Proven experience on London residential basement projects.
* Good understanding of London Clay, groundwater behaviour and basement construction.
* Professional Indemnity Insurance.
