Deck Retaining Wall Plan Update
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I already have a permitted deck layout that shows 14" × 14" concrete piers on 2' × 2' spread footings. I now want to wrap those posts with a low, 2-foot-tall concrete retaining wall (frost depth 42") and embed pilasters that tie into the existing footings.
Scope
• Produce a structural plan for the new concrete wall, including dimensions, rebar schedule, connection details to each deck pier, and sizing for the pilasters.
• Revise the current footing details so the wall and pilasters share reinforcement and satisfy code for lateral load.
• Incorporate a simple, code-compliant drainage solution (perforated drain tile, gravel backfill, weep holes) to relieve hydrostatic pressure behind the wall.
• Provide any updated section/elevation views that clarify relationships between wall, posts, and deck framing.
Deliverables
1. Signed PDF plan set ready for submission (wall, footing revisions, drainage notes).
2. Must include all reinforcement requirements.
3. Needs state of Colorado p.e. stamp
I’ll supply the existing deck drawings in DWG and PDF once we start. Please ensure your work meets typical North American residential building codes (IRC/IBC) so my local inspector can approve it with minimal revision. Attached brief diagram and retaining wall depiction, will provide complete cad plan to use for actual work
