QGIS Spatial GIS examples in MySQL

I am using https://www.qgis.org/ to map a range of data. Currently this data is in GIS formatted files; eg KML.

I would like create data in MYSQL and then use the QGIS connector to MYSQL to display that data.

The help I am seeking is:
* What table structures do I need in MYSQL so when I connect using QGIS it will display

To start with I have a table of Lat / Long / Description that I would like to display in QGIS

I am happy to start to use "propper" SQL server spatial data datatypes as well.

Deliverables:
* A Create Table SQL example of some points on a map so I can test
* A example spatial data SQL so I can test

Also looking for someone who knows QGIS for other support in the future.
