“Manejo y Restauración de Humedales y Zonas Costeras” (2000–2024)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
1) Context
I am looking for a specialist in GIS + Remote Sensing (GEE) + ArcGIS Pro to develop a pilot project for the sub-index “Management and Restoration of Wetlands and Coastal Areas” within a conservation status index for coastal basins in Venezuela.
Reduced scope (POC): 1 basin (to be defined) and minimum variables to test the complete flow.
2) Pilot objective
Deliver a reproducible workflow (scripts + steps) that:
Generates inputs for 2000–2024 with limited scope,
Produces a final raster of the sub-index integrating key variables,
Documents the method for later scaling to other basins.
3) Technical scope (reduced)
Basin: 1 (to be confirmed with me).
Period: 2000–2024.
A. Wetland extent (MapBiomas Aguas – Venezuela)
Classify permanent/seasonal (in this pilot we omit “semi-permanent”).
Area per year and variation 2000–2024.
Output: 1 composite raster 2000–2024 + annual table.
B. Wetland vegetation health (single index)
Annual NDVI (Landsat).
Trend 2000–2024 (Theil–Sen or similar).
Output: NDVI-trend raster 2000–2024 + GEE script.
C. Land pressure (simplified)
% of high-impact use (intensive agriculture + urban) in a single 2 km buffer around wetlands (MapBiomas Land Cover – Venezuela).
Output: raster/pressure layer (low–medium–high) and summary table.
