Large GIS GML Layer Merging & Symmetrical Difference
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I am looking for a skilled freelancer to assist me with merging and performing symmetrical difference operations on a very large GIS GML layer. This project is for personal use and requires expertise in handling GML layers of size more than 25GB.
We have a total of 318x GML layers together covering the UK with a total size of about 27GB. We need these layers to be merged and for a symmetrical difference function performed on the merged layer with an outline of England and Wales to highlight all holes in the original GML layers. The resulting layer, highlighting all holes, should be produced in shp Shape File format. Please note that this task requires significant knowledge of GIS systems and experience dealing with very large datasets.
We cannot accept any simplification of the data beyond the removal of polygon slivers representing less than a meter width. We would prefer to receive the working layer unfiltered but will not accept any product which simplifies any corners/points or removals polygons representing a meter or more in width.
We will provide an Excel document with the required links to each of the 318 GML layers (or a WFDownload file). We will also provide the overlay GML.
Skills and experience required:
- Proficiency in using QGIS software (or other appropriate GIS software packages) for GIS merging
- Strong knowledge and experience in working with large GML layers
- Familiarity with symmetrical difference operations in GIS
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately merge and perform operations on GML layers
