Task for GIS Specialist: Car Wash Site Selection and Model Development in Southeast Asia
Objective
The ultimate goal is to Identify 100-200 high-potential locations for a high-volume car wash chain in
Southeast Asia, specifically focusing on Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Australia.
The mode of operations of this project is to develop a GIS-based site selection model for Mr. Car
Wash that supports optimized car wash locations., eventually acting as the MVP for the project.
Each location should be capable of supporting 640 washes per day and accommodating up to 5,000
members on an unlimited subscription plan.
The process will prioritize factors like traffic flow, congestion management, accessibility, and
proximity to retail and residential areas, aligning with the company’s growth ambitions as detailed in
the pitch deck. The workflow below provides a structured approach to accurately determine and
validate these ideal locations through research and live data integration.

The analysis will utilize existing datasets provided by the client. Please provide an interactive GIS map as the final deliverable. Including demographic data will enhance the model's accuracy in predicting high-potential locations. The freelancer will choose the best available live traffic and congestion data sources for integration. The interactive GIS map will be provided as a downloadable file for local use. The final deliverable will be an interactive GIS map accessible as a web application. Including competitor locations data sources will enhance the model's analysis of high-potential locations.
