GIS Mapping Expert for Electrical Infrastructure Mapping

Looking for a GIS Mapping Analyst to help complete GIS mapping for US electric transmission and distribution infrastructure. We will provide initial training to the right candidate to help them get started. Immediate start with an initial contract of 3 months.

Role: GIS Mapping Analyst

Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in similar work.

Location: Remote

● Minimum 6 months experience as a professional GIS Developer, Engineer, or an Analyst, preferably in ArcGIS and Google Maps
● Knowledge of a variety of geospatial data types and their pros/cons (shapefiles, kmz, geotiff, geoJSON, etc.)
● Knowledge of coordinate systems and ability to choose one for a given task
● Experience working with geospatial data (displaying, ETL, analyzing, etc.)
● Python scripting for GIS tasks, either open source stack (gdal/ogr,
● rasterio/geopandas) or ESRI (arcpy)
● Experience with web-mapping frameworks (leaflet, OpenLayers, etc.)
● Experience with a remote development team
● Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
● Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines to meet client expectations
