Valles Caldera Geothermal Site Mapping
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I am preparing to drill a commercial geothermal well in the Valles Caldera region and need a qualified geologist to give me a clear, data-driven picture of the subsurface before we commit to the rig. The target area is compact—under one square kilometre—but we are starting from scratch with no legacy geological data, so everything must be built from the ground up.
Here is what I expect you to handle:
• Site assessment and high-resolution mapping that pinpoints the most promising drill collar.
• Soil and cuttings sampling in the field, followed by laboratory analysis that identifies mineralogy, alteration patterns, and geochemical signatures linked to geothermal fluids.
• A quantitative geothermal resource estimate, including temperature-depth projections, permeability indicators, and suggested production rates.
The final package should include georeferenced maps (ArcGIS/QGIS compatible), raw and interpreted lab results, your modelling files, and a concise technical report that ties the findings together and lays out next steps for drilling.
Accuracy and defensibility are critical; I will use your work to secure permits and investor funding, so please be ready to explain your workflow and assumptions. Let me know the field methods, software, and lab techniques you plan to use, along with an indicative timeline for both the on-site work and the reporting phase.
