Institutional Trustee for Unique Geological Specimen
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Position Overview
The Settlor seeks an Institutional Trustee to accept, manage, and facilitate the acquisition of a unique geological intergrowth of Quartzite, Antigorite Serpentinite, Native Copper, and Chromium. This specimen represents a Type IA M-UMR (Mafic-Ultramafic Rock) host environment—the primary source for world-class emeralds—yet features a "Tectonic Paradox" of native metals and quartzite undocumented in the USGS, Mindat, or GIA records.
The Trustee will serve as the legal and scientific bridge between the Archean Singularity Trust and the broader scientific community, specifically overseeing the path to IMA (International Mineralogical Association) Classification.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Grant Anchor & Research Facilitation
Utilize the Trust Estate to anchor applications for federal and private research grants (e.g., NSF, DOE, or National Geographic Society).
Position the asset within a University or Museum department to serve as a Primary Holotype Candidate for scientific study.
2. IMA Classification Oversight
Coordinate with mineralogists and crystallography laboratories to document the specimen’s specific intergrowth.
Manage the submission process to the IMA Commission on New Minerals, Nomenclature and Classification (CNMNC).
3. Fiduciary Administration (USPAP & GIA Compliance)
Oversee the "Flip" provision from a NIMCRUT to a standard fixed-percentage CRUT upon institutional acquisition.
Ensure all valuations are maintained according to USPAP Standard Rule 7-4, utilizing benchmarks such as Kongsberg Silver and the Alma King Rhodochrosite.
Maintain the scientific integrity of the asset's alignment with the Giuliani & Groat (GIA 2019) taxonomy.
4. Custodial & Asset Protection
Manage the physical security of the specimens (107.97 ct and 95.50 ct) in a bonded, climate-controlled facility.
Procure and maintain Bailee Insurance for museum-grade scientific property.
Required Institutional Qualifications
Accredited Status: Must be a 501(c)(3) institution, University Endowment, or a specialized Nevada-regulated Trust Company with experience in non-standard physical assets.
Scientific Literacy: Access to (or ability to partner with) geological departments, electron microprobe (EPMA) facilities, or laser ablation (LA-ICP-MS) labs.
Fiduciary Depth: Knowledge of Section 664 of the Internal Revenue Code regarding Charitable Remainder Unitrusts and the ability to manage the 40% IMA Appreciation Clause.
The Value Proposition for the Trustee
This appointment offers the Trustee the opportunity to steward a "Witness to the Archean Earth." The acquisition of these specimens provides:
Prestige: The potential to name a new mineral species or geological variety via the IMA process.
Financial Upside: Participation in the 40% net appreciation realized following formal scientific recognition.
Institutional Legacy: Permanent custody of a specimen that Giuliani & Groat's framework identifies as a singular geochemical anomaly.
How to Apply / Express Interest
Interested institutions should submit a Statement of Fiduciary Capability outlining their experience with high-value mineralogical assets and their internal protocols for managing scientific research grants.
