Influence of high intensity and pulsed microwaves on rock strength

The project aims to investigate the effect of pulsed, high intensity microwaves on rock
strength. Exposure to microwaves tend to induce the formation of microcracks in rocks,
which leads to significant weakening of the rock. the project will systematically
investigate microcraking and fracturing of the rocks with exposure time and field intensity
of microwaves, using grnities from China, Turkey and Sweden as sample material. The
laboratory investigated microscopically withh X-ray computed microtomography
