QGIS Chainage and Profile Generator - Plugin

I am a frequent user of QGIS and am to develop a plugin that will do the following:
- based on an existing line.shp file with the following fields (LineName (str), LineLength) calculate the chainages (CH) at nominated intervals (input by the user) along the shp file.
- a separate .shp file will be created for the new CH's
- the CH.shp file will include the following fields: CH (meters), Easting (m), Northing (m), Elevation (based on an ex. TIF file) and Line name (based on parent line.shp).
- In addition, the plugin will recognise intersections with other lines in the same line.shp file and create a CH point at this intersection
- The plugin will include instructions (in english) of how to use the plugin, suitable for a lay person with no coding experience.
