Interactive Open-Source Map Creation
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need a GIS expert to create an interactive map for our club's website using free, open-source resources. The map will display geographic points of interest (e.g., landmarks, locations) with information appearing on hover or right-click.
Someone made a map for us using ARCGIS.
https://myersgeospatial.com/HPS_Base_Map.html
However this requires a paid ARCGIS account, which we cannot afford.
We want a map similar to this using open source and free sources. Traffic is probably too high for a mapbox account without going into the paid tier.
** In your response please indicate what approach and platform you want to use.
Requirements:
- Use free, open-source resources
- No transition to paid tiers with high traffic
- Ability to embed into our existing website
- Provide code to embed in the website
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in GIS software
- Experience in creating interactive maps
- Familiarity with open-source web mapping tools (e.g., Leaflet, OpenLayers, Maplibre)
- Web development skills for seamless integration
