Historical Landscape Design Spatial Analysis
Budget: £250 – £500 GBP
I'm seeking a professional who can analyze a historical landscape design, focusing on the spatial relationships of points in certain apparently designed landscapes. The primary aspect of interest is the alignment and orientation of these points. My conjecture is that a landscape designed 300 years ago + has a hidden design construct. I can show this on Google earth but need a more accurate analysis using a GIS system. There are one or two subsidiary analyses to be done looking at the use of angles of sunrise which appear to be a component. If the conjecture can be shown to stand up it suggests a rethink of commonly accepted landscape design principles in the period 1615 -1730 in the English landscape, and a possibly much older construct. A TV producer is showing initial interest for a documentary.

- Specifically, evaluate the points on perimeters and intersections of resultant lines across the landscape
Ideal skills and experience:
- Strong background in landscape architecture or related field
- Experience with spatial analysis
- Proficient understanding of alignment and orientation concepts
- Ability to assess and interpret complex spatial relationships
I will provide an overview of the conjecture coupled with my work using google earth and Ordnance Survey mapping. I’ll provide accurate detail of the locations on the boundaries of two or three similar landscapes that appear to be using this “Vitruvian” system. Fundamentally I need an accurate version of my “crude” analysis - which I accept might refute my conjecture. I expect some dialogue as the project progresses to refine it. I am averagely IT literate but do not have the time to “learn” to operate a GIS software program.
