Georeferenced Orthotiles for Dubai South Airport area (Al Maktoum Airport)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
We require a skilled GIS or remote-sensing freelancer to prepare georeferenced orthophoto tiles for the Dubai South (Al Maktoum International Airport) area.
I will provide a KMZ/KML file containing the precise geographic boundaries (corner coordinates) of the area to be processed. The freelancer’s task is to:
Source suitable satellite imagery — preferably from a free or open-access source (e.g. Emirates Space Agency, Copernicus Sentinel, or other high-resolution providers ≈ 50 cm GSD if available).
Verify image-use rights and citation requirements if freeware/publicly licensed.
Process and mosaic the imagery into a clean, georeferenced orthophoto covering the entire KMZ-defined zone.
Export the final deliverables as:
GeoTIFF(s) with correct coordinate reference WGS84 (EPSG:4326)
Consistent naming convention per tile,
Optional overview JPEG/PNG for quick preview.
Deliverables
One set of orthotiles (GeoTIFF format, properly georeferenced).
Short note or link citing the imagery source and license type.
Additional Info
The output will be used for flight-simulator scenery development (X-Plane 12).
Accuracy and clarity near runways, aprons, and nearby desert perimeters are a priority.
This is a trial task for one full coverage area; excellent work may lead to follow-up projects.
