Drone Flight Planning App or Spreadsheet
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need an app, or a spreadsheet that will project a GPS coordinate on the ground to a waypoint in the air for a drone.
I do missing person searches in extremely rugged terrain. These folks are long ago presumed deceased, so I am searching for small bits of evidence. I need the highest resolution images possible to be able to identify human remains and such. I am not doing the flights for traditional mapping proposes.
I currently use UgCS for my flight paths, and that easily gets me to the second graphic in the image I posted. I can, of course change the gimbal pitch to look directly at the slope, but that's not the same thing as what's going on in the third graphic. I NEED that consistent distance away from the slope, not the consistent AGL over a coordinate on the ground. I want to look AT the coordinate, not be directly above it.
For each location on the ground, I know the GPS coordinates, the elevation, the slope angle, and the aspect. I need to project to a waypoint in the air for the drone such that I am perpendicular to the slope angle, along a bearing equal to the aspect, and a set distance away from the spot (determined by the camera/lens I'm using).
I want to be able to copy columns with the Lat, Long, Elevation, Slope Angle and Aspect into a spreadsheet with formulas and functions to do the math for finding the coordinates, elevation, heading, and gimbal pitch for a drone waypoint to be able to look at each coordinate.
This is a real need for really important work. Families need closure and to be able to bury their loved ones. Any help you guys could give me with making a spreadsheet or an app would be greatly appreciated.
