Converting PDF files into Polygons for use in GIS Application
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
Many of the UK Local Authorities publish local plan maps showing where new housing and employment areas are proposed. This information is generally available either via an online map or pdf map for each of the 300+ areas. I'm currently manually redrawing each of these maps which is very time consuming. I'm looking for a quicker solution that somehow allows the pdf to be converted into a format such as geopackage, geojson etc. The aim is to produce one comprehensive map pulling together the data from all of the Local Authority areas.
The linked files show how the maps are often provided - in this case for the Charnwood Local Authority area.
