VR based Open World free roam Driving Game

Job ID: 33741730

Budget: $10 – $65 AUD

Hi,

We are looking to develop an open world driving "game" using Unreal and drive around in a variety of cars and trucks. The main focus is driver practice so the roads, lines, speed signs, road signs, intersections, lights are most important with high levels of realistic rendering. It must be using OpenXR (VR).

Ideally want to be able to use a city or section of map from Google MAPS and then generate the road network including all line marketings, lanes, traffic details etc. Appreciate there may be some modelling work to deliver a high quality road network.

Also want to use a few different right and left hand drive cars - mixture manual and automatic. Need telemetry feed as well to use motion simulator.

Mainly to be used for driver training so no "game levels" or things - more about city/country roads and the realism of the roads and towns/cities. Realise its a big project so will expand continuously with long term work potential.

At some stage would want to add AI Cars and AI pedestrians that can be adjusted by time of day and certain events like AI car running through red lights. The car physics are important in terms of road surfaces. Also want ability to set weather conditions as well which will impact a variety of vehicle behaviours.

First stage is say a small city of 20-30 roads, right hand drive mid sized sedan, telemetry feed of vehicle for motion platform, all road physics (including lanes, signage etc) "live" so we can determine when driver crosses lanes, dosnt stop, exceeds speed limit - and then start expanding. We have no knowledge of Unreal but have been told thats the best to utilise. Not sure if I need programmer, modeller, renderer or a bit of all skills?

Very happy to use (fund) third party tools if they help. Noticed there are significant add-ons for Unreal which may help overall. Very flexible.

Your thoughts and ideas and estimates appreciated. (Very high end PC only - no mobile)
Cheers
Joe
