Web Game Developer

Job ID: 37370795

Budget: $750 – $1,500 NZD

I'm looking for a web game developer to help me develop a puzzle/strategy game. I have clear ideas about the game mechanics, and want the game to be simple and casual. Ideally, the developer should have experience with more complex games, as I may ask for advanced features in the future. If you are looking for a project that requires creativity and skillful development, this would be a great opportunity for you!

Here is the exact brief:

Game Concept:
You are seeking a web-based 2D isometric city-building game. The primary goal is for players to construct their ideal urban area by dragging and dropping different tiles onto an isometric grid.

Gameplay Mechanics:
* Players can drag and drop tiles onto the isometric grid.
* A dropdown menu allows players to select different locations, each with varying amounts of land available for construction.
* Tiles should "click" or "lock" into place on the grid as they are positioned.
* If a chosen spot on the grid is already occupied, the existing tile should fade to 50% opacity when hovered over. After 2 seconds, it should disappear to make room for the new tile.
* Tiles come in various sizes, occupying 1, 2, or 4 grid spaces to indicate the space they use.

Data Recording:
* The game should record and store data for each session. This data should specify the number of each tile type placed in each location. For instance, if a location has space for 40 tiles, the game should track how many are housing, golf courses, supermarkets, and so on.

User Interaction:
* Implement a "Poll Results" button in the bottom right corner of the game menu. When clicked, it should display an overlay on the isometric grid. This overlay should show the average data for each location in a semi-transparent manner.
* Implement a "Tāmaki’s Fairways Now" button to the game menu. When clicked, it should display an overlay on the isometric grid. This overlay should show the grid for that location, but with only golf course tiles on it.

Platform and Browser Compatibility:
* The game must be responsive and playable on both desktop and mobile devices.
* Ensure that the game functions correctly on all major web browsers, including Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Safari for iOS.

Integration with Webflow:
* The game will be incorporated into a Webflow website. It should be iFrame-ready or in a format compatible with Webflow for seamless integration.

Assets and Sound:
* You will be provided with all the necessary graphic assets for the game. Sound effects are not required for this project.
