Troubleshoot and Optimize Steam Deck Setup
Budget: £10 – £20 GBP
I’ve hit a wall fine-tuning my Steam Deck for Pokémon and need a technically minded pair of hands to finish what I started. Here’s where I’m stuck: • PKHeX is still on an old build. I’d like the newest release installed, fully working with the saves I already have. • My Pokémon Fire Red ROM refuses to open in PKhex the game itself can be played and do a in game save but something in the Deck’s setup is off or PKhex or Mgba • Generations 8-9—including Let’s Go Pikachu and Shining Pearl—stutter, drop frames, and occasionally hard-crash. Since that happened, the Nintendo Switch app on the Deck won’t boot any game at all. What I need from you is a clean, end-to-end fix: update PKHeX, get Fire Red recognised and editable, optimise the emulators so every generation (1-9) runs smoothly, and restore the Switch front-end so it launches titles reliably. If that involves tweaking mGBA, EmuDeck, Ryujinx/Yuzu, Proton settings, or firmware, that’s fine—I just want to power on, pick a game, and play. Once everything is stable, please show me any settings files or hot-keys I should keep an eye on so I can maintain the setup myself. If this sounds straightforward to you, let me know your timeline and the remote or on-device method you prefer; I’m ready as soon as you are. I’m happy for you to work remotely via anydesk
