Tilemap PC Game Design in Unity 2D

Job ID: 38228713

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I'm seeking a skilled game developer who can create a casual game using Unity. Here's an overview of the project:

- Game Type: The game will be a tilemap-based action game.

-Game Detail:
Game Concept
Each level displays a field (map). In the field, there are fruits, pests, and obstacles. You, as the farmer, need to collect as many fruits as possible and eliminate pests. You cannot move past obstacles. Each level has a time limit (countdown), with the first level set at 60 seconds and the 100th level at 30 seconds. There are 100 levels in total. Between levels, there is a transition screen to calculate the score. There is a level selection screen.

Additional Elements and Mechanics:
Competitive Farmer:

AI Behavior: The computer-simulated farmer will also collect fruits and eliminate pests in the field, competing with the player. The competitive farmer has a certain level of intelligence, able to determine paths, prioritize areas with the most fruits, and avoid obstacles and pests.
Interference Behavior: The competitive farmer may deliberately snatch fruits near the player, increasing the difficulty of the game.
Scoring Mechanism:

Each fruit has a fixed score value. If a fruit is snatched by another farmer, the player's score will be deducted accordingly.
Score Deduction: The score of the snatched fruit will be directly deducted from the player's total score. If the player's score drops below a certain value (e.g., below zero), the player fails the level.
If the player and the competitive farmer meet, a mini-game (Rock-Paper-Scissors) can be used to determine the outcome.
Items:
Freeze Fruit: When used, it can freeze fruits within a certain range, making them collectible only by the player and temporarily inaccessible to other farmers.
Slow Trap: A trap placed in the field that, when triggered, slows down the movement speed of the competitive farmer.
Fruit Magnet: When used, the player can automatically attract nearby fruits for a certain period, preventing them from being snatched by other farmers.
Fog Bomb: When used, generates fog in a certain area, obscuring the vision and making it difficult for competitive farmers to find fruits.
New Interface Designs:
Competitive Farmer Status: Displays the competitive farmer's score, position, and current status (e.g., whether they are frozen or slowed down).
Interaction Prompt: Provides warning prompts when the competitive farmer approaches the player, increasing the tension.
Example Level Designs:
Level 5: Introduces a simple competitive farmer, allowing the player to adapt to the new competitive mechanism.
Level 20: Increases the number of competitive farmers to two, requiring the player to use items and strategies wisely to compete for fruits.
Level 40: The competitive farmers become smarter and start using interference behaviors, requiring the player to be more cautious.
Level 70: The complexity of the scene increases, requiring the player to use advanced items like fog bombs and slow traps.
Level 100: The ultimate level with multiple competitive farmers, a complex scene, and sparse fruit distribution, requiring the player to give their all to complete the challenge.
Game Balancing:
AI Difficulty Adjustment: As the levels progress, the intelligence and speed of the competitive farmers increase, making the game progressively more challenging.
Item Balancing: Ensures that the frequency of item acquisition and use maintains a balance, making the game challenging but not overly difficult.

I want to design a casual game using Unity. I have already written some code (completed reading the map configuration and creating the map).

I hope you can improve the code according to the game design ideas mentioned above.

Additionally, the current map display doesn't look very good. I hope you can improve it to make the map look more natural, possibly requiring modifications to the connections between the tiles.

The main game interface effect should refer to the attached image.

The project's budget is no more than $100.

The ideal candidate for this project will have experience in designing and developing tilemap games, particularly in the action genre. Previous work within the casual game space, particularly with a focus on creating engaging gameplay and objectives, will be highly beneficial. A strong understanding of game design principles, specifically in the context of casual and action games, is a must.

If you are passionate about game development and have a creative approach to designing casual games, I look forward to reviewing your proposal.
