I’m looking for someone who can meet me in Elizabethport, NJ and sit with me while we get my copy of The Sims 2 running smoothly again. I only want bug-fix mods installed—custom content or gameplay tweaks—yet every time I try to add them I hit installation errors and, shortly after, the entire laptop crashes.
Here’s what’s already been done on my end: I reinstalled the game from scratch, cleared the mod cache, and applied every available patch, but the problems keep coming back. I need a knowledgeable Sims 2 player or game developer who understands the quirks of the older Sims engine, folder hierarchy, and the Windows file-security nuances that can block package files. Ideally you’ll be familiar with tools like SimPE, the Compressionizer, and the latest community bug-fix bundles, and you’ll know the safest way to merge or separate package files so the game boots without hitting memory limits.
What you’ll do when we meet:
• Inspect my current directory structure and make a backup.
• Identify and remove any corrupted or conflicting packages.
• Install and test the essential bug-fix mods I provide (or recommend better-maintained ones if necessary).
• Launch the game repeatedly to confirm stable performance and no more install errors.
I’ll provide the laptop, game discs, and the mods I’ve downloaded; you bring your expertise and any diagnostic utilities you rely on. We’ll know the job is done when the game loads to the neighborhood select screen, enters a household, and survives at least 30 real-time minutes without a crash.
This is strictly in-person support—I’m not interested in remote sessions or screen-sharing—so please only respond if you can travel to Elizabethport and are comfortable working face-to-face.
