Simple Java 2D game
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I want a lightweight 2-dimensional game written entirely in Java where the sole goal is to move around a small map and collect scattered items. No combat, no elaborate quests—just a clean, responsive “grab-everything-you-see” experience that can be finished in a few short minutes.
The core mechanic is straightforward: a player-controlled character navigates with the keyboard, each pickup increments a counter, and the round ends once every item has been gathered. Beyond that I’m flexible: you can decide whether the collectibles look like coins, gems, or something else, and you can pick whichever graphical approach you’re most comfortable with—simple pixel art, cartoon vectors, or anything that keeps performance smooth.
I’m happy with Swing, JavaFX, or even LibGDX as the rendering layer, provided the final build runs on any standard JRE without extra setup.
Please include:
• Complete, well-commented source code
• A runnable JAR (or Gradle/Maven task that produces one)
• Brief read-me explaining controls, how to add more levels or assets, and build steps
