Pygame Puzzle Game Prototype

Job ID: 39767490

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I want a small-scale 2D puzzle game built from the ground up in Pygame. The goal is to showcase clean, well-commented Python code that clearly separates game logic, rendering, and asset management so I can extend it later. Graphics can stay simple—solid colours or lightweight sprites are fine—but the play experience should feel polished: smooth input, consistent frame rate, and a short menu flow that lets me start, restart, and exit the game.

Core requirements
• One self-contained puzzle mechanic (e.g. sliding blocks, matching tiles, or switch-and-door logic)
• A handful of handcrafted levels that progressively introduce that mechanic
• Basic sound effects triggered by key actions (pygame.mixer is fine)
• Window resizing or a fixed 16:9 resolution that scales cleanly
• Clear README with run instructions and dependencies

Because I often demo my projects, include a brief screen-capture of the finished game recorded in OBS Studio—30-60 seconds that shows the menu, at least one complete level, and a win state. No advanced editing is necessary; raw MP4 is perfect.

Deliverables
1. Full runnable source code and assets in a single folder or Git repo
2. README.md with setup steps (Python version, pip install commands)
3. Short OBS recording of gameplay

That’s the entire scope; once these three items work on my machine, I’ll sign off.
